TRON [TRX] Pledges to Donate an Initial $3 Million To the Binance Charity Foundation

The popular cryptocurrency exchange of Binance, initiated the Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF) on September 25th to support the application of blockchain technology for social good. The exchange also announced a partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the same day, and donated $1 Million USD to the UNDP.

During this announcement, the founder and CEO of TRON, Justin Sun, extended his support to BCF and UNDP. He reinforced that TRON will play a strategic role in leveraging blockhain technology to develop solutions for charity and Sustainable Development Goals. TRON (TRX) has pledged to donate an initial $3 Million to BCF to be used towards the advancement of blockchain efforts for charity.

Justin Sun and Binance’s Changpeng Zhao, To Speak at UN Event, October 24th

Justin Sun and Binance’s Changpeng Zhao, will attend the World Investment Forum hosted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on the 24th of October. There will be a reception afterwards at the Palais des Nations. This is the first time a discussion related to blockchain technology will be hosted by the UN. The two leaders are expected to talk about fundraising and how Blockchain technology will help world leaders to work towards sustainable developments.

Malta’s Delta Summit

The country of Malta has embraced cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry wholeheartedly. The country held The Delta Summit from October the 3 – 5. This was Malta’s first official platform that promotes blockchain technology and related business opportunities. After the main event, Tron, Binance and BCF attended a private reception hosted by her Excellency President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at San Anton Palace. At the reception, TRON and BCF continued the dialogue around their shared vision of blockchain technology for social good and how the technology can help resolve current pain points for charitable institutions.

Blockchain technology not only offers transparency and traceability, but also the capability to run multiple complex programs simultaneously. These characteristics can be used to solve the challenges faced by charities today such as donation transparency, traceability and actual impact. Blockchain technology can bring together donors, volunteers, recipients and organizations of various sizes into one cohesive ecosystem.

As one of the largest decentralized networks, TRON is uniquely positions to lead the mass adoption of blockchain technology in the charity field. TRON will dedicate significant resources to help charitable organizations bring more transparency and traceability to current models.

Binance To Donate Listing Fees 

Binance additionally announced that it will be donating 100% of listing fees to its Blockchain Charity Foundation. Helen Hai, the head of BCF had this to say:

We firmly believe that blockchain technology will bring transformative solutions to social problems, and help bridge the UN Sustainable Development Goals funding gap in fast and innovative ways.

Haoliang Xu, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations and Director of the regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific at the UNDP, added the following:

We believe blockchain is a technology that can have a huge impact in the developing world in numerous ways.
