Ripple (XRP) partnered Revolut has announced it is unveiling Revolut metal card with cryptocurrency cashback.
The digital banking startup aims at capturing the minds of millennial through its 21st century innovation. The new metal card is raped with lots of incentives which is not limited to cashback in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency like XRP and Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which the platform recently added.
The metal card according to findings is made from a lone sheet of reinforced steel. It weighs three times as much as a plastic card and costs £12.99 a month, or £120 a year, a subscription package that is close to a double of the £6.99/month subscription of Revolut’s basic premium subscription.
One of the incentives added to the card is going to push for its acceptance by the crypto community especially for those who travels out of Europe since they are entitled to one per cent cash back incentive compared to those within who receive 0.1% cashback.
In the same line, customers receive around £600 each month in free international ATM withdrawals and a dedicated concierge service when they make some bookings i.e. flights and festival tickets.
The incentives also include unlimited foreign exchange, free international money transfers, 24 hours customer support and a standard overseas travel insurance.
Talking about the development, Nik Storonsky, CEO, Revolut, said: “We are absolutely convinced that Revolut Metal will be the exclusive card of the future, and an absolute must for travellers worldwide. While the plan already comes with a bunch of new features, there is so much more to come, including commission-free trading and airport lounges.”
He added that: “The launch of Revolut Metal is also an important step towards the company generating additional revenue, especially as we prepare to launch a commission-free trading platform and expand the business into North America and Asia later this year.”
Not long, Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) were added to Revolut app due to the demand of its community. During the time, Revolut has been making around 100,000 Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum exchanges every day.
“We’ve been asking the Revolut community which cryptocurrencies they would like to see next, and the demand for both XRP and Bitcoin Cash has been absolutely overwhelming,” said Vlad Yatsenko, Revolut chief technology officer.
