If you happen to be in Canada, you can now order finger lickin’ good food by paying in Bitcoins! KFC Canada announced ‘The Bitcoin Bucket’ earlier today, priced at $20. This can now be paid for by using Bitcoins, the company announced on Twitter. KFC has now become the latest name to join the Bitcoin party, joining a number of eminent names who accept Bitcoin payments such as Microsoft, etc.
As of now KFC Canada only allows you to buy the Bitcoin Bucket using Bitcoin payments. Moreover, this is a limited time offer – with no time limit having been specified. KFC Canada officially introduced this Bitcoin Bucket saying, Welcome to 2018 Canada! This is a very progressive move from the popular Quick Service Restaurant, becoming the first major QSR company to begin accepting Bitcoin payments.
For now, this offer is only valid in Canada and KFC apologized to the rest of the world. For those wondering what KFC Canada has in their Bitcoin Bucket, the website specifies it: Those ordering the $20 Bitcoin Bucket will get 10 Original Recipe Tenders, Waffle Fries, Med Side, Med Gravy and 2 Dips.
While no time frame has been specified as to when they are accepting Bitcoin payments, the order time that you can select for delivery only has slots till 8PM on the 19th of January. It appears as if KFC Canada is running this Bitcoin payments promotion only for this week.
However, this might just be a trial run for now – prompting them for a longer run in the future. As of now we do not know what the company has in mind, but it is a really exciting start. KFC Canada, upon being asked why they are accepting Bitcoins and not something which is less volatile showed their funny side and commented, ‘more exciting’.
Time to get yourself some of that finger lickin’ good food, Canada!
