Here Are 4 Crucial Takeaways from Justin’s Letter After Tron’s (TRX) Acquisition of BitTorrent

On the 6th of August, Justin Sun held an all inclusive meeting with all Tron (TRX) employees in both Beijing and San Francisco. The meeting was made possible through video conferencing and Justin took the opportunity to explain to his team what the BitTorrent acquisition meant for the future of the Tron project.

In his explanation, Justin clearly stated that the acquisition was not about the 100 Million automatic users that will be integrated into the Tron ecosystem; neither was it about the acquisition being a great commercial opportunity. Justin explained that the reason for acquiring BitTorrent was that the platform was committed towards democratizing the web. His exact words were as follows:

..but the more important reason is that BitTorrent has always been committed to one value, which is “Democratize the Internet.” This is very much in line with TRON’s “Decentralize the Web.” The fact that our values are in sync is the driving force behind this acquisition.

This is the first important point from Justin’s explanation to the team at Tron. Justin also added that the Tron project was geared towards returning the power to the people on the internet. He stated the following:

The Internet was decentralized when it was first created. Since Web 1.0 in the 80s, we believed that Internet services should be built upon an open protocol shared by the web community…The [current] centralized Internet structure started to trigger public fear.

In order to address the issues brought by the centralized Internet, the solution will have to be decentralized.

To achieve this goal of decentralization, the Tron project will implement a strategy which brings us to the third crucial takeaway from Justin’s.

For the third important takeaway in the letter, Justin adds:

As for our overall strategy, we will first strengthen the existing decentralized Internet infrastructure, and then explore the opportunities for developing the protocol layer and DApp layer.

The fourth and final takeaway from Justin’s letter is the time frame all this will take to achieve. He added that:

This is a long-term mission which will take 10 to 20 years to complete. I’m 28 now. I will devote my whole life to the revolution of Internet decentralization. TRON is committed to rejuvenating the revolution led by BitTorrent at the beginning of the 21st century, saving the Internet from centralized monopolies, and establishing a free, transparent, and decentralized Web 4.0.

In conclusion, any Tron HODLer and believer who has read the entire letter or the above 4 highlighted takeaways, has extinguished all doubts that lingered as to what the Tron project was geared towards achieving as well as the corresponding time frame to do it. This means anyone HODLing some TRX would be justified in doing so for the next 10 – 20 years as Justin mentioned.
